On hot mid-summer mornings, that need a quick pick me up, blending a sweet caffeinated frappe is perfect. All you need is a blender, milk, banana, sugar, ice, and of course MATCHA!
Let’s not worry about the nutritional aspect. This drink is far healthier than those chain store cafe frappes – end of argument.
Take a few minutes and blend this drink, you deserve it. With everyone being home during this Covid-19 pandemic, the little things that pick us up throughout the day can make a world of difference.

Ingredients

  • 1-1.5 tsp Fine Grade Matcha
  • 1 cup milk of choice (we recommend 2%, soy, or almond)
  • 1 tbs honey
  • 1/2 banana
  • 3/4 cup ice

Directions

Instructions Checklist
  • Combine milk, matcha green tea, honey, banana, and ice, in a blender; blend to desired consistency. Whipped cream is optional, but delicious!

Recipe Notes:

Adjust the thickness of the frappe by increasing or decreasing the amount of ice according to your taste buds.

You can substitute almond milk, rice milk, or soy milk for the milk. We do not recommend using whole milk, as this thickens too much when blended.

This recipe is very versatile, you can add more ice if you want it thicker, more matcha green powder if you want it stronger, and various amounts of sugar, honey, or simple syrup.

We make a great Matcha

Matcha is the Japanese powdered green tea used in tea ceremonies. It is made by grinding up tencha leaves into a powder form and served by whisking it with hot water. Once the tencha tea leaves are ground into Matcha, the tea begins to oxidize and lose its fresh flavor. We recommend storing your Matcha in a dry refrigerated location for a longer shelf life.

Best served: Hot Tea / Iced Tea
